That's great. If your experience is anything like mine you will find that drivers will think up the most extraordinary and interesting ways to put an end to your life. These days, I try to be prepared for anything - when I remain focused, that is. My problem is how to maintain a high level of concentration over longish periods - expecially in the minutes after I have a scare. The human mind is not designed to be single pointed for very long - at least, mine isn't.

I just imagine all the cagers are naked behind the wheel, that keeps the mind active for me.
Hey Gummiente, thank you for sharing that. You clearly have a wide ranging imagination .
Cheers

I've been accused many times of that and much worse.
Hey, ya know why I don't need a radio on my bike? I have the voices in my head to keep me company on long trips.
Yeah , but you're just jealous that the voices talk to me...............

I try to stay focused on being aware of what idiot drivers are doing around me. I treat it like I do whenever I used to go running: assume that nobody can see you and act accordingly.

I nearly freak myself out the other day thinking about it, and I wasn't even riding.
Am I the only one?
Got any remedies to the solution, or any past stories of near misses and prevention tips? Obviously, there is no way to prevent someone else from doing something.
The Hurt report indicates that only 4% of motorcycle accidents occur from
behind. So that should help to allay some of your fears.
I was riding scared for the first two weeks, even after taking the MSF
course and it almost had me to the point of selling the bike. However I resolved to continue to practice what I learned a MSF and managed to overcome and realize that the fears I had were only due to being unfamiliar with the techniques and abilities that must be learned before moving out into mainstream traffic. Now I am truly enjoying every minute
I spend out on the road and I continue to learn every day.
That's kind of reassuring. Getting smushed between two cars is the next worst nightmare after a 60 mph highside on the freeway. That or getting decapitated by a road sign.
