INsurance is tomorrow's mission -- I read your other post on your troubles. I'll let you know what rates I find. When I began looking a few months back I asked my company (Meloche Monnex) for a quote, and they went around 2500 or so. I flipped out at that; considering my good record and that they have my home and auto insurance. Called Rider's Plus, and they quoted me around 1100/yr.Hammersfan wrote:I think I will take the course as well. How have you made out on the insurance,? So far, GT Powersports has been alright to me. I pick up the bike in 2 weeks, so we'll see if they continue to be customer oriented. The other around $950.
But Mike at GT recommends State Farm, and says that they tend to be around the same as Riders' Plus, but are easier to deal with when you need them.
As well, Mike recommended looking at Open Road. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Congrats on your V*
Congrats on your new ride, did you get the classic or custom??
either way i think you'll love it, i sure love mine.
as far as insurance, check out Primmum Insurance if they're in Ontario, the rates you were quoted sound pretty high, or check out Kingsway General Insurance, plus they both offer discounts to ISRA members, just in case you belong or think of joining, or check out CMA (Canadian Motorcycle Association) just a few thoughts
Enjoy your new V* and take care

If you would like the info on the agent I phoned feel free to email me and I send you the details. My quote was a little less but it was for a smaller bike so maybe thats why.

Re: JUST BOUGHT IT!
I looked at the site and it doesn't look to me like they're claiming any ram air benefits (good thing too) just a more efficiently shaped inlet to a free flowing K&N filter. I can't imagine any huge performance gains coming out of it, but dr_bar is right. They do look pretty.Relsek wrote:So.... basically it's just a ram-air device that's chrome and has a fancy name?

There is no ram-air effect, the thing is open at the back as well as the front. But it is a less restrictive aircleaner than the stock piece. The local H-D shop likes to say the quickest way to make a stock H-D faster is sideswipe a post and knock the stock aircleaner off. Instant 5 HP gain.

No Witnesses....
