I have been watching this site for a while now & it seems to be stagnant.

I've e-mailed them a few times with no success :( (Bad address?)

With my Skydiving & Motorcycling credentials, I reckon I'm their NEW test Pilot!! Unfortunately they don't know it yet.

This IS my Ultimate Dream Machine....& I'd sell all of my Motorcycles to own & fly one.

I live in Hope.... 8) But I'm not holding my breath.

As I chopper Pilot I would love to give that a go.But one thing does spring to mind if you have an engine faliure how are you going to get down safely. With a Plane you glide with a chopper you autorotate but with that I doubt there will be much energy in the fans to keep producing thrust so the safest way would be to include some sort of parachute a bit like the Cirrus. But that aint goinna to work at 200ft.

Ahh, but you forget: this probably won't be completed till 2040, by which time we'll have uncrashable computers controlling reliable hardware.... until it gets windows installed on it

I suspose I should have read the website a bit more their is going to be a parachute system and they expect you to where a parachute aswell.

Quote from site :The AirBike will employ an emergency ballistic parachute system. This safety feature will deploy from the tail section after the rider has left the craft and deployed his/her own parachute. The seat assembly will hinge forward to allow the shock cord, which will be attached above the craft's center of gravity, to suspend the AirBike in a level position until it reaches the surface.

Eventually the AirBike will incorporate a pair of rotary engines as a redundant safety measure as well as for additional power. They will be mounted in-line (front/back) and employ a hollow shaft and uni-directional clutch mechanisms. If one engine were to fail, the other could continue without the additional drag of the malfunctioning power plant.

However they want to make it a twin engine thats gonna be cheap to operate.Great Idea but with the technology we have now it aint gonna happen any time soon.

And Nibblet you should feel ashamed making fun of Bill Gates Baby there is nothing wrong with windows and it is the best OS out there.
Billl if you read this please send lots of cash

WOW! Awesome Mash!

Here in the Outback the R22 is used for rounding up Cattle, you should see the skill these pilots have! You see them ducking below the trees & rearing up over the tops....amazing!

P.S. I parachuted out of a Helicopter once with 2 mates, that was fun.
