Has anyone noticed an increase in motorcycles over the past months?

Today I went to the dentist and I've lived in this town for 17 years. Never have I seen so many motorcycles on the road.

Today I saw 11. They weren't riding together or anything, only two were travelling with each other in fact.

And it wasn't just today, I've been noticing this for a while now. Has anyone else noticed an increase in riders around your area?

One thing I can attribute it to, I believe, is three motorcycle dealers (Honda, HD, and Yamaha sports) opening in the last year alone. But even before that I've noticed more and more riders on the road.

And, surprisingly, everyone of the riders was in full gear (minus one driver who, I guess, gave his to his pillion).
Have fun on the open /¦\

I know, I was surprised too.

I've only seen 2 bikes out in the last 3 months.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

In my neighborhood alone there are 48 houses, and at least 15 bikes. Bikes are popular here in Florida.

I have to agree with CNF2002, as the price of gas goes up, the more motorcycles youll see on the road.

I know my bike gets better gas milage than my F250.

I have noticed a marked increase in motorcycles in the past couple of years. What I find more suprising is how many new riders are female. It use to be odd to see that now it is an every day thing.

I supose the increase in sales is why I can't seem to get the bike dealers to take much off the prices.

You've got that backwards. Nobody opens up a dealership without the demand already being in place. After all, you could open a strip club in Salt lake City and I doubt anyone would patronize the place.

Gas prices, shows like American Chopper, and baby-boomers becoming bored empty-nesters looking to revisit their youth (and buy that cool bike they could never afford) have driven up demand or bikes.

I'll bet money that a strip club in Salt Lake City would get business at least 3 months of the year.
