I bet he trailers that bike a lot! I know I would becuase it would cost WAY too much to replace that tire when it wears out.

I just wonder if whoever rides that bike gets their leg caught in the chain. Look how far it sticks out, and there isn't a guard or some type of shroud on it.

I wonder how much weight the larger rear rim and tire add to the bike as a whole. It looks cool, but I'd never own one.

well at least he wont need to scuff up his sidestand. I bet that bike could stand up on its own :roll2:

Bikes like that are not made for pillions, just 'Show'....But by all accounts....I'll bet it goes!

....point made. My boss watches them religiously every morning. I see why one may watch them for entertainment value, but the "bikes" they build are groteque jokes. They can actually ride them a couple hundred miles before something breaks!

If I were going to pay 35-50+ thousand for a bike, I'd buy two really nice bikes, the insurance for both of them for a couple of years, then pocket the other half!

As for the w-i-d-e back tires, I guess they are O.K. for looks plus, if you never lean more than 5 degrees, who cares how the bike turns?

Maybe they are good "suspension" for hard tails?

I can actually understand the bikes more than the "shows". SOME custom choppers are cool (if I lived in the middle of the city and needed an expensive Yuppy bar-hopper kinda bike). Any bike of mine would have to be at least semi-functional no matter how much money I had, and the BIG tire thing would take to much out of the riding experience for me. The "personalities" on the show are more than I can take however, although there is no argueing the skills that most of them have.
