Everyone would be lying if they tried to say that Harley isn't a large and obvious target not just on this board, but everywhere in the riding community. Does it bug me? A little. Does it get old? Absolutely.

I can see some peoples frustration for our choice of motorcycle being the default punching bag and although I would never want anyone to hold back their opinion it would be nice to respect others, their opinion and riding choice.

I will say that I enjoy this board, the humor and good heartedness. I'll also add what I tell my buddies (riding or not) that a joke thats worn thin is no longer a joke. I get fed-up with hearing anti harley stereotypes as much as the stereotypes I hear from my fellow harley riders about other types (or brands) of bikes.

The end of the day though its easy enough to flip to the next thread and ignore the people stupid enough not to agree with me

No harm, no foul.

If you take offense because someone is making fun of what brand something you own is, then that is completely your problem. More people need to learn to be able to laugh at themselves instead of getting offended. Dont take yourself so seriously.

If someone is being hostile towards you, that is one thing, but if you can't take a joke, maybe you should go live alone on a desert island.

I can think of reasons to bust on every brand of motorcycle, scooter, whatever. WHO CARES?? Life is not all about image :)

Thats my opinion anyway. Now i'm going to go ride my Vespa.

A guy at church initiates the opposite with me quite often. My 30-year-old "ricer" just rubs him the wrong way, I guess. He's dyed in the wool Harley, but doesn't have one anymore because he can't afford one (his words).

I will never figure out why he does it...one day he was out there pretending to kick my bike over. I wasn't there, so he told me later  ..this is very strange to me. I know many harley owners...good friends. They invite me along, and vice versa. Whatever. I still like them all.
Ride safe...God bless!

I love that line. Mind if I "borrow" it?
Sure thing.

It's interesting, isn't it? Not even philio :D . Just a machine, but so much misdirected emotion revolving around it. Makes me wonder if there was childhood trauma involving a Japanese motorcycle and this guy. He says it's just because he's an American. Incidently, he rides four-wheelers...aren't they all Japanese? Maybe not all (I don't know), but his is a Yamaha  . Oh the Hypocricy.
Ride safe...God bless!
