Semi-New Rider

#1 Unread post by TXClassic »

First of all I just want to say hello to everyone here, I have been reading these forums for some time now, and decided I wanted to get involved instead of watching from the window.
I have a little bit of riding under my belt, but not much. I used to have a Honda Rebel 250 that I learned on. I have already been through the MSC, and when I had my Rebel I rode for about 3 months solid. However all that was about 2 years ago, and I really haven't been on one since. I have been looking at the V-Star classic 650's and love the look and feel of them, I have sat on them but not ridden one. I'm ready to go this week and ride one off the showroom floor, but wanted to get opinions on wether or not this might be too much bike for me. When I had the Rebel, I got really bored with it very quick, but I didn't know if a 650 might be too much of a jump, thanks and sorry for the length.

take the MSF again, cant hurt and will refresh your skills. Vstar sounds like a solid choice.

Definately go for the V-star. Good choice for a cruiser for a new rider

good choice out there for V-Star. You will pretty much enjoy every bit. V-star is a newbie friendly and also powerfull enough to let you have fun on it. V-Star is also my first bike, and I plan to keep it for the years to come. The weight (470lbs and save me a couple time from dropping), the look and power (can ride along with big bike no problem, always cruise @ 80mph on FWY). Need more opinion check out "http://forums.delphiforums.com/sgmfa/start". It is the place where us Yamaha V-star hang out.
