105 miles on the new bike

#1 Unread post by Crovello »

Picked up my new Royal Star tour Deluxe on Friday. I got lucky up here in Massachusetts and the temp was in the high 40's and low 50's all weekend. I can sum up my review in three words.
smooth, powerful and planted.
First I must tell you that my previous bike was a SuzukiVL800 so this was a big jump for me. I loved the smooth power of the V4. I was worried that i would not like the sound of the V4 but I was very pleased with the sound of the pipes, quiet but throaty. The bike was very comfortable and the windshield and lower fairing gave great comfort in the cool air. When I first got on the highway I found myself doing 80mph plus without realizing it. This is where the cruise control will come in handy. I used it several time and it worked fantastic. On the backroads the extra weight was not noticeable. The biked handles great. I must admit to noticing the weight when backing it in the garage though. I will make sure not to park facing down hill if backing up will be required. I popped the windshield and backrest off in less then one minute and it was like having another bike to ride. The bike looks great in either configuration and I look forward to warmer weather.

Cool, got to see pics if you can. Did I detect a hint of excitment attached to this post?
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

I can feel your excitement with your new machine. The best to you. It must feel wonderful. I hope the weather changes again fast for you and it warms up so you can get a few more miles on.
