I was looking into buying a second bike this year. Ive been riding a 81 maxim 650 and I really like it but I would like something a little newer because somethings are starting to decay and I cant see spending much money on a bike that will still be 23 years old when Im done. Any how I was looking at an early 90's Virago 750. I was guessing that since that they made it for more than 15 years and it didnt change much over that time, that its probably a good bike. Just wanted to get you opinion on that and maybe some suggestions on some other solutions. I plan to spend around 2500 or so.
Thanks again,
Shawn

I had a virago but not for long. Though they are supposed to be good bikes and have a good reputation I found the seating position to pegs a bit short for me (I'm six feet tall). It also is a bit lighter than other bikes of the same size if I remember correctly and it tends to behave a bit squirrely on bad roads as I recall. Or maybe that was simply the one I owned. It could have been tires or many things (used bike) I move to a 750 Vulcan (94) which seemed like it was twice as big a bike. I did love that Vulcan though. Kept it for a good long time. Might still have it if I had realized that getting old is no reason to stop riding.
