Do you have a cowl installed over the back seat? Or am I just seeing things. Something important to remember is that if you have that bag hooked over plastics it will over time wear away at the paint and make it look pretty bad. Waxing it several times, and doing so often will help reduce the damage to the paint.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

heheheh.
It's not that bad actually, given the upright seating position of the bike. My knees tuck in nicely behind the tank panniers and the tank bag helps to block the airflow, to keep the 'boys' from getting a chill on those cooler rides.
The top box and panniers are far enough back that they don't interfere. I hardly even notice them being there.

the bag comes w/ a soft removable material under it, that's the black thingie you see in between the bag and the rear plastic cover. i guess that's what you mean by "cowl."

A seat cowl is a piece of hard plastic that'll cover up the passenger portion of your seat so it looks more like a racebike. Because of the shiny red bit I thought you had one installed.
Make sure you keep that bit of black cloth clean, otherwise it'll pick up dirt and dust which will do a number on any paint it rests on.
