I've seen a lot of those photos elsewhere. The site didn't seem overwhelmingly "anti" motorcycle. More of a warning type thing. My basic philosophy holds strong - I can't determine when or how I will leave this life. I can, however, be as safe as possible on my bike. There was no real background story as to how all those crashed pictured occurred. I will continue to ride as long as I feel comfortable doing so.
Cheers,
Loonette

Hmmm That's incredibly sobering.
I'm a firm believer in "when it's your time, it's your time. Whether that means getting centerpunched by some idiot cager running a red light or bursting an anyeurism (sp?) while sitting on your sofa eating chips. When it's your time to go...it's your time to go. Of course it would be unwise to tempt death's fate further by doing foolish things while riding. Riding is already an exercise in hyper concentration of the world around you.
Anyway...so I was putting some sta-bil in the tank the other day...

Apart from how difficult it is to read whats written on the website (because of layout, not content) and that he either skews the facts or quotes stuff thats just erroneous to begin with, its a great indication of why riding gear's needed.
The picture of the guy going over the car shows him wearing shorts and a Tshirt!!!!!
But what would the wbesites author say to a page full of gory pictures of fatalities of car accidents where the victims drove drunk or with seat belts? We should give up cars?

I've never heard someone who rides bikes call them Metrics before...
I think JWF has a very good point.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I'm willing to bet a quick look at his IP address and you'll find it's the same server as that website.
My problem with the site is similar to loonette's, there is no explaination for those accidents. Who was at fault or what the actual cause was...

Even if it was pages of picture of people in regular car accidents, the majority of society has deemed cars as an acceptable risk so the statistics and horrifying images can be easily ignored.Mustang wrote: But what would the wbesites author say to a page full of gory pictures of fatalities of car accidents where the victims drove drunk or with seat belts? yep. Probably a more well-known term in the States because we use the standard measuring system, not metric, so in the bike world a Metric is pretty self-explanatory. Heck, my fav bike rag is Roadbike, the subtitle being "Ride Metric".Kal wrote:Refers to Japanese Cruisers dosn't it?
