Today I changed my oil w/ Shell Rotella T 15w40, and a Wix 51359 filter. Gear engagement is more positive now, and all in all I don't notice any huge issues - aside from an apparent increase in my operating temps. I don't ever recall it going over 210F - even when it was 100F outside while I was home on R&R in September and I was idling in traffic. Tonight, it was about 77F, and I hit 220F after rolling in traffic for half an hour or so (10mph or less). Getting up over about 25mph brings the temp back down to the 185F area.
It's entirely possible that I just never paid much attention to the temp while I was stopped before. The oil level is fine, the coolant level is fine, the fan turns on, it just seems to get hotter now than before. Any ideas - or should I just not worry about it as long as it stays below 230F (the manual says shut her down at 248F).
Increased operating temp..

I don't know that it makes any difference, but I work at an oil change place for 18 wheelers, and the most popular oil for the rigs is Rotella "T"15/40. It is primarily a diesel engine oil. A few people do use it in thier gas engine autos.
