just got back from the DMV...

#1 Unread post by VermilionX »

I HAVE AN M1 LICENSE NOW! :rocking: :band: :rocking:

i asked if i could leave work early since by the time i leave work DMV is closed already. wasn't so busy in the pet clinic so my boss said i could go.

went to the DMV and got my license(well, it's still a piece of paper but i'll get the card soon.)

and tomorrow, im gonna get my break-in maintenance done. i found one that will do the break-in maintenance service for $100. plus he said, he does maintenance on more parts than what the owner's manual require.

after this, time to see what my bike can do above 6K rpms.

Dude, be careful. EASE up past the 6k mark. Cause even at 65 mph, it'll wheelie.

And congrats!

really?

i thought it will only wheelie if i instantly use a lot of throttle but not if i use the throttle gradually.

could you clear this up for me?

i was planning on testing how far i can push 1st gear (if road conditions allow it of course) and what other things should i watch out for when i decide to do this?

Anything, and everything. Guessing around 90 mph.

Oh, and if you're in let's say 2nd gear, at 65 mph, and you pin the throttle, it'll lift up. If a 929RR can do it with a 300 lb rider, a GSX-R1000 with about 20 more HP and a rider that's half that weight can do it.

so even if i only gradually apply throttle... after certain rpms, it will still lift?

if that's the case, then i'll just try it some other time.

Not gradually, didn't mean to confuse you.

1st gear? Over 90mph.

<< edit >>iirc there was a magazine shoot out by Autocar last year where all their favorite cars of the year were playing and they invited a GSX-R1000 along from their collegues atb Bike.

The GSX-R1000 beat all the cars in the 0-100mph-0 test - The rider sulked because he only got 98mph in first so he lost a millisecond or so changing up to second gear.<< /edit >>

And she should wheelie in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear.

If you check out the Ghostrider series of videos you will see him wheelie the bike while exceding motorway speeds and being chased by the Police.

Impressive but Do not try this at home.

I think it is km/h on the speedo, but even so he is doing 220km/h coming out of the penultimate turn which is about 140 mph - impressive.

<< edit >> I've just read trhis post and decided I should only have decaffinated drinks at work... << /edit >>
