Abate vs. MSF

#1 Unread post by -OGz-Candiru »

I just got my motorcycle permit, and I'm ready to take a class. I live in Inidiana and the state has contracted out the licensing to ABATE. If I take their class for $75 and pass, i get a card from the organization, go to the BMV and get the license without a problem and no test. However, I'm curious if I would get a better training with MSF since that's all I ever read about in the forum. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the welcome! I"m happy to be here. The Abate pamphlet says the basic rider course is a 15 to 20 hr course designed to teach:
straight line riding, turning, shifting, braking

Mental skills:
street riding strategies, special riding situations, proper riding attitude

complex physical skills for:
advanced turning techniques, maximum braking techniques, swerving.

The descriiption is a little vague, but I think that's what the MSF course offers as well.

Its probably still the MSF course. ABATE administers the MSF course in some states.

i used to live in Indy and id say take the MSF. The ABATE teaches ya some stuff. But MSF is more through IMO. ABATE is not a bad school im saying, just MSF teaches ya more and gives ya more info and exp i think.
