rebel style bars on a ls650
I asked my dealer about some cheep handlebars that are about the same size as the rebel 250 bars, they just feel good to me. we found some that were similar in a catalog for $10, but I need to know the clamp width, which I'll measure out when I get the bike. anyways, he said I'll also have to remove the glued on left grip, which can be tricky. I saw some tricks for using wd-40, but wont that stay on and keep the grip slippery after I put it on the new bars?

I was able to use a long thin-bladed screwdriver and slide it underneath the grip. Then I just rotated the handle of the screwdriver to work it all the way around the handlebar. After that it was easy to pull off. I put the Kuryakyn ISO grips on my Savage and it'll be tough to get that one off. The glue they provide is pretty tough stuff.

well I found a setof bars, 5.5center width, 4.5" rise, 30" width, 6.5" pull back, for only $30 on ebay, but I just spent that on the battery tender, and I realized that I dont really know what I am really gonna want the bars to be like untill I ride it for a bit, so I will leave it for now. and who knows, I might get sick of the bike by mid sumer and try to go up to an SV650 or bigger cruiser. we shall see. right now I am gonna try to get in some miles on saturday after this rain washes away all the salt from the roads.
