Damn thats dangerous! Its looks exciting as hell, but at the same time, that stuff is insane. If I recall correctly, a fairly well known British magazine journalist died there last year.

People die every year at the TT. It's an evil race, but one day I will be good enough to take the ferry and do the TT.

Stats? I don't know where I could lay my hands on them.

The Kirk Michael section of the notorious 37.73-mile Mountain Course, which has claimed the lives of about 200 riders over the years. Thats a section, not the whole thing. Its the TT's centenary this year so thats 2 riders a year dying on that section of the course.

Every year there are news stories about the racers that end up dying there. It's pretty much always riders that die, most spectators stay away from the danger areas. Just enter isle of mann tt deaths into google and check the results.

I can't remember the corner name but there is a particular corner that is known for being lethal. IIRC there is a humpback bridge followed by a tight lefthander with dry stone buildings to the front and the right.

Compete? I wish. I just want to go over on Mad Sunday and put in the best ride I can.

On the Sunday before the actual race starts they close off the circuit to cars and allow anyone on a motorcycle to ride it - it's called Mad Sunday, and invariably there is at least one fatality.

I wonder what that says about the difference between British culture and American culture, the fact that such a lethal race couldnt occur in the states? Are we just so scared of death? I wonder...

the brits don't want deaths either... just look at their restrictions on bikes which prevented lot's of deaths of new riders.
