Well when you are in traffic, what is your rpms at?
-Edit: I think when he meant excessively low, it is when you give too much throttle for the rpm you are at. Example would be giving full throttle at a low rpms in a high gear.

you mean stop and go crawling traffic? then im only at around 1-2K
normal city riding im usually cruising at 4K.
but ever since i passed 600 miles, im accelerating hard now so im using around 5-6K and rarely above 6K since anything above it will result in way too much speed for the streets.

That's exactly what I meant. Particularly on the gixxer, rpms are your friend. I was trying to do away with the notion that lower rpms are always better for your engine. For example, riding my CB750 down the highway I can run it in top gear at 55 mph and 3,400 rpm, or 4th gear at 5,500 rpm. The latter is actually easier on the engine's internal components. I rarely get into top gear below 65 mph.
When I get onto a highway I redline my bike in 1st and 2nd by then I am already doing 140kmh. I then short shift some times two gears at a time until I am in 6th and run 140 - 160 where it is safe to do so. Out on the country roads I do the same for 3rd and 4th. What you have yet to experiance, and I might add that it worries a lot of guys on this forum, is the sheer accelarative power of your Gixxer. I imagine that it will be comparable or even more than my Beemer. It is the use of this power that determines whether you stay on the bike or not as witnessed by many vids and pics on this very forum. There are many skills to riding and understanding where your power band kicks in is one of them. As Flynrider is explaining there is more than one way to use that power.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

yeah, looks like it'd be hard to practice top acceleration on my bike since i heard from others that it can go around 98mph in 1st gear. my normal freeway cruising is 70-80mph. so even if i could practice it for a brief moment... it won't make much sense since i'll have to drop the speed before i switch to 2nd or else, i'll be flying at crazy unsafe speed for a public highway.
