:D Hello Ladies and Gents!! I'm a new comer to this site and want to say hello. I just purchased myself my first Bike at 38 years old. Raising 3 girls and a Mrs didn't leave papa with much spending money for a bike. But those days are over. I've got a 2004 vtx 1800s with 40 glorious miles on it.Now the weather wants to turn to @#$@. All January and Febuary we have been getting some mild days. Now I get my bike and 20 deg temps. Well I still went out yesterday in the cold sunny dry day and started the bonding process. Nice to be in the saddle!

Welcome to the club, lucky you getting to ride, current outdoor temp here -12 degrees C.

wow -12 I guess I'll keep quiet about the low 20's. Just think how sweet it will be when you can get out and ride. Any of you vet riders have any advice on saddle bags. Mounted bags vs throw over bags that go under the rear of the seat. Already have PMS and I'm looking to add bags and windshield.

Welcome to the Forums Big Sam .
Were I to use bags they would be the leather throw over sort so that I could quickly take them off when I didn't need them .
That's my 2¢ worth anyway .

Whereas, I'd be more inclined to use the bolt on or quick detatchable type to prevent scratching the paint on the fender and other surfaces.

Thanks for the input guys. Throw overs seem to be a lot cheaper. But I've heard they will mess up your bike. Anyone have em on their bike? Trying to justify spending the extra if it really doesn't make a difference.

Welcome Big Sam, I'm from northern NY and saw a cold weather rider today with temps in the hi 20s. I've got a 2005 Suzuki Boulevard that picked up last summer. I'm getting the itch to ride. I attend a auto auction in East Windsor,nice area. Enjoy your freedom...
