i figured i'd visit my dojo and sensei and the other students just to say hi.

i stopped training after i got bit by the cat at work. and i could have gone back now but im kinda stuck paying for my bike and insurance. i can still squeeze it in but i don't want to lose the little bit of extra money im getting. plus i wanna add mods to my bike and also track school. so im saving up money.

my sensei told me the dojo is doing fine, lots of new students he said.

it's kinda made me sad since he told me it's ok but he said he could really use me there since im one of his very 1st students and not bragging but one of his best as well. our most senior student has been gone for a long time now and he said he could really use the leadership and example i coudl offer. he also said that some of the students that i know before i left have improved a lot so at least he has some help teaching the newbies.

 being honest to myself, i don't think i'll be able to go back unless i get a good raise at work.

i miss going to the dojo... but my priorities have turned upside down when i got my bike.

getting a bike really changed my life.

how about you guys? any things you used to love doing that you seldom or stopped doing when you started riding?

PS. to those wondering what MA i was training... it's shinkendo, it's a japanese swordmanship class. we use real swords as well as wooden ones but we don't use the real ones on partner practice of course.

Spending my summer days in my room playing counterstrike. No regrets switching to dirt bike though

gave up competitive sailboat racing a year after I started riding. Decided last year that I had way more fun riding on weekends than I did going out getting soaked and sunburned.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
