not riding for 1-2 months

okay, so a little update and some qestions from the accident i had a few weeks back(4 or 5)...

i still have the cast on my right arm...

the the road rash has almost completely healed...

and my ankle is better too, i can comfortably walk on it, it's almost as good as it was before the accident, except that it hurts when i stretch it out...either way...

i havn't been on the bike for a bit over a month now except for once, it was about a week ago when i thoght i was ready to get back on the bike so i did....

the only problem was that the cast would somehow get stuck stuck on the throttle and gas it, besides i couldn't get a good grip on the throttle...

also, a friend of mine who was riding with a cast got pulled over and the cop had his bike towed...

so i thought it'd be best to put off riding until i take the cast off...

my question is, let's assume i'm gonna have the cast on for another 1 to 2 months, am i gonna forget anything? in other words, is this gonna decrease my riding experience level? :|

In the long term no, however when you get the cast off it might be wise to go over your drills before jumping on the Bike and putting any serious distance in.

Besides after a number of weeks not being used I suspect it may take you a while to get your arm back up to full strength, and can you think of a better way?

What do you think happens here with all teh Canucks that are forced to park the ride 4.5+ months out of the year??

Ah...we're almost ready to go here again - I plated the bike last year on March 24th...woo!! I'll see if I can't beat that date for 06 :mrgreen:

I've got a pic of myself last year riding in Feb...

We've gotten two feet of snow in the last two days. Two weeks ago sunday it was +10, now it's -10.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I went through the same thing you did, didn't affect me any. And I had to learn on a new bike after my accident.

Oh, and I take 4-5 months off every year, you're a little rusty when you start, but that just means you need to practise a little and take it easy at first.

The biggest problem with having seasons is that your most recent memory when you first start riding again is of you at the end of the last season, when you were at your peak with the most constant practise. It makes it really tough to ski, because you remember yourself shooting through tree runs and bombing down the moguls, and you get back out there and you're all weak kneed and crappy :P
