You wouldn't be the first person to misread a thread, I know I've done it enough times to have a perm blush.scanevalexec wrote:Duh! I misread you. I thought you said "This thread lends little credence", not "lends a little credence". Amazing what difference an "a" makes!
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Woke up thinking that this couldn't possibly be correct It had to be earlier than that so it must of been the first year of production which was 1961 and that would have been the year that I had it .Wizzard wrote:1963 Honda Dream 305cc .
That was the first one that was street legal .

Oh and that was in '63 btw
Damn , I hate when my memory falters .............

Started on a Suzuki 550 and soon grew tired of that.cruisinflatout wrote:UPDATED to specify that it was the

just curious - what did you start on??
**Just vote what the bike is commonly referred to - if it's always called a 600 but it's truely a 598 - VOTE 600.**
(Hope this isn't a previous poll)

I've been that newb on too-big a bike and, if I had the chance to do it over again, I would have definitely started on something smaller. Learning on that thing was like learning to ride a horse by hopping on the biggest, greenest, meanest stallion in the paddock.
Turned out okay, though. (Thank whatever dieties have been watching over me for the past decade.)
I get to come from the opposite side of the 'been there, done that' spectrum.Meaning that we aren't being hypocritcal telling new guys to start small, and showing that we've been there and done that, and might actually believe what we're suggesting.
