mintbread posted this earlier, but here it is again. The most current information from the rider herself -
I have to thank you for putting up the link for just one more person that asked about this event, (me). I have gone over it two times so far. The first biggest impression I had was that she is not seeking to screw this dirt bag over. That comment alone by me shows I am not a good a person as she. I have never found it easy to turn the other cheek. I could see letting it go a little if this dirt bag admitted to making a mistake BUT No, he has to blame it on her. She has taught me tons, there is so much to absorb and it all should not be forgotten. I have printed this out and will hang it by the work bench so every time I see it I will remember it. Everything from protective clothing to lane positioning to rideing technique to attitude is very impressive. This lady should be teaching motorcycle training, do ya know how many lives she would probbably save? Just her talk on learning how to fall is bothering me so much, how will I learn this now? I need to research that to now. I allready know what leathers, boots, gloves, back protector and helment I want so she would be happy about that, but how do ya ware all that gear when it's really hot out? There is so much experiance she has, I will never be able to equal that. I guess this is ware being cautious and rideing with your head and within your skill level will give me a chance to get the experience to learn just some of what she knows. To hell with my motocross raceing experience, the road is going to be even tougher than I thought. On the track the other racers would mow you over to win, on the road they will just mow you over for no reason at all. That may not be entirely true but I think it's a safe bet. I have learned a lot about the video recording idea. I started researching that a week ago whan I saw this post, I wish I had seen this link a week ago to. I have a very tiny pocket sized video recorder/ media system. It is by RCA called the Lyra. It's like the media system put out by iRiver. I also have a few very tiny ( 1"X1" X 1/4") color video cams that opperate on 9 to 12 volt battery packs that I have expermented with. These little video recorders have large hard drives and mine can record from the cam for over 14 hours. The unit can fit in a pocket so to fit it in a tank bag or back pack is easy. You set it on and forget it. Two of those little battery packs are light and small so again storage is easy, then the cam she spoke of is all that's left. So I like her idea to be prepaired when it's so easy to do. Pluss think of the laughs you can have with your friends the day after rides BSing about it and watching the vids. There is even a place called skullcamz.com ware components can be had. But I like that crush proof cam she has the best. I'm getting together with friends from work that ride tomorrow, I will let them read her take on the crash. Maybe we all can learn more if we talk about it together. Either I missed it or she never really spoke about what will go on with a court hearing, she did talk about the lack of insurance for the driver, and it not being his car. I'm wondering if he will be charged for giving false testamony to the cops about the crash. "I" hope so. I just can't get over it, if you crash me out and wreck my machine I'm gona be pissed. How is it that she is so cool about it all. You know, it just dawned on me. I bet it's because that she made it out alive, that is more important then getting even. Yup, that's it. Wow, she could be a teacher. A big Thank You to her for her effort to help us all. She is a wonderful person. I wish all the best to her.
