I have carried my electric bass in it's gig bag with me on the bike before, one I hit about 45, it wants to go airborne. It is a distraction though, I sure wouldn't carry it in any traffic, I would hate to wreck my bike and my bass at the same time.

I put my strat right on the seat with the neck pointing backward over the taillight, but slightly offset to the right. I use a cargo net to hold it down. Your spanish guitar will be thicker, but the net should stretch over it...Mine will stretch over a helmet. This way, there's no air resistance at street speeds trying to rip it off your back, and offsetting the neck slightly keeps it from obscuring the taillight to the SUVS. My strat is in a gig-bag, I think the hardcase will ber too big. Hope that helps.

I have stuck my Les Paul in a fender gig bag that goes on like a backpack..... it works, but the neck is sticking above your head, and at 45mph the guitar REALLY is straining to fly away from wind resistance. I only did this twice, and I will bever do it again, because its a 1991 Gibson Les Paul Studio, and if I went down and went down on it....... I would never forgive myself.

like I said..... I have a fender bag..... its great to wear like a backpack, but I dont see how any bag can be safe above 45 or so.

If you don't mind doing some fabrication yourself, I used to have something that I made to clip to the rear peg of my old bike that would cradle the bottom of a hard case. Case just sat on that and then I strapped it to the side of the bike. Now, if the bike went down on that side, it would land on the guitar, but there was no wind resistance problems, etc and it was very stable and secure. I had to make the piece to clip onto the peg so the bottom would be secure and not slip. Wish I had pictures so I could show you but maybe you can imagine it. Do an online search for a mount that holds a golf bag off the back of a bike. That's where I got the idea and then just got creative from there.
