the bike should definately get easier to ride once I ditch the vetter fairing. It makes a top heavy bike even more top heavy, also planning on switching to bars with less rise. I cant stand the buckhorn bars that are on it now, but they are the only bars that will clear the fairing, unless I want ape hangers.
id pay a dollar to see someone put ape hangers on their Duc

Verm, you have survived against all odds so far, ride your own ride, do not even think of keeping up with the other guys, it will come to you in time. Best advice I can give you now is to get some professional help. Book a course with a rider instructer, spend some money on this. It seems like you are ready and trying to self train will get you in to trouble.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

+1 on this one... The toughest thing to do with an instructor, is to unlearn bad habits you acquired through friends or just not knowing the correct way to do something. Like sapaul said, spend some money on this and I think you'll find the rewards are paid back ten fold...

90mph is just a little above ½ of the top speed of my bike as i heard.
but really now, im not gonna race you or anyone else for that matter while on public roads. not now, not even if i become good enough to race others.
anyway, i look forward to meeting and riding w/ you.
we should invite dirtytoes as well since he's from around here as well.

Hey Verm, do ya'll have any Books A Million stores in your area?
If you do go to the Transportation section and look for a book called a twist of the wrist, you could learn alot from it. I think that there is a part one and a part two. But for right now just take your time, you've still only got a 1000 miles under your belt. I would still read the books though, lots of good info.
