Looking for help with my Nighthawk CB700SC. I've had problem since I got the bike (it has been rode hard and put away wet).
I have had the tank professionally reconditioned, new fuel lines, and rebuilt the carbs. The bike starts, runs and when yo are in the garage the bike runs great.
If you try to ride it - it had no/low power, it loads up and feels like a dog.
An help would be appriciated.
Thanks,
Tom
700SC - Runs good in garage, No go on street
Have you checked the compression to verify that all the cylinders are able to generate power? On my 700 maxim if I loose just one cylinder the bike will hardly run on the other 3 cylinders. By the way did you replace the vaccuum hose to the fuel petcock?? If this hose is bad it can cause a lot of head ache. Hope others can come up with more help. Good luck.

Yes - the compression is good. But the vaccuum line is the same one (from the intake to the petcock. I will give that a shot. If I run the petcock on reserve - does it negate the vaccuume line?niterider wrote:Have you checked the compression to verify that all the cylinders are able to generate power? Thanks for now - any other suggestions are encouraged and welcomed!
On my bike I can not get any fuel in any position unless the bike is running. I can't even get any out of it on the prime position with the engine not running. Some have said to push the lever in when in the prime position, however; it does nothing for my bike.
