I've got a friend in denver who has a VW bug that will run 10s (I've watched him run a 10 second run at bandimere). Other than the drag slicks on the back the car looks like a typical street going bug. I have seen a street driven bug run a high 9 though it was no sleeper. this is all running the VW engine too, no v8 swaps here.
