Front Forks

I have a98 Honda nighthawk I cant get the forks to come apart to replace seals. Ive remaved the bolt from the bottom and the retainer clip on top of the seal. I DONT WANT TO RECK ANY THING.Please help????thanks Bobdog

put the fork in a vise if you have one then push tube all the way down then jerk it out hard.do this until it comes out there is a bushing down there that comes out with the tube.when it comes out it brings the seal with it.

Ive tried every thing.Im afraid Im going to f--it up.I put it in a vice and yanked on it hard. Beet on it,Heated it up. I dont know what honda used to seal it with but its good stuff. Im going to try air today. Thanks for the reply . Bobdog

Be dam sure your standing behind that thing when you do. And point it towards the neighbors house.

I'd give yankin' on it another try first. Sometimes it takes a pretty determined/violent effort to dislodge the bushing. I just think about my x-wife, and that ussually gets me mad enough..... :mrgreen:
