Swatter, I don't have a whole lot of choice as far as transportation goes, it's either ride a bicycle (which I've been doing) or ride a motorcycle (which I will be doing soon enough). I believe I have already answered the question about why I have a car and no license (no, it didn't get suspended or anything). And yeah, kabob, I'll let you know if I don't go through with the GS500E (although if you're in alabama it might be a little bit of a drive for you).

I've been trying to find a bike since October...which is hard with my budget. I wouldn't mind the drive at all (my MSF instructor offered to help me get it back if I needed him, so he can ride. I'm not ready for a 2 hour highway trip yet).

Thought about getting your GED so you can get your car license?

Im gonna guess that Alabama has some law that states if you drop out of HS you cant get your license until your 18

Sorry, no offense.

You can have a bike as main transportation, but there will be times when you dont want to ride and you wont have alot of choice.

During the spring/summer/fall my bike is my only form of transport. In the winter I take the bus, it can be inconvient, but to me it is far better then owning a car/truck. I'd rather ride any day. And when it's shitty out, I just hop on the bus and let someone else worry about fighting through snowdrifts, where if an accident happens I wiegh several times the other vehicle, and it's not my fault, I'm not driving :D!
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Oh, no, it's ok. Sorry, I didn't realize my response came across so pissy. And I'm not too worried about having a motorcycle as my main transportation (at least until I get my GED) the weather doesn't get bad here, especially in the summer, just a lot of rain is the worst of it. We get one, maybe snow falls a year, and those are only like an inch, and cause the whole city to shut down, so no one would be to upset if I couldn't make it to work on of those days.
