How many cylinders do I need
How many cylinders do I need
After looking around I have found two bikes that I want. Now the question is which one. It's come to the '06 Suzuki GSX-R600 or the '06 Triumph Daytona 675. The biggest hang up for me is the engine. The Suzuki has 4 cylinders and the Triumph has only 3. I need some quidance on the difference, what's better and the amount of maintenance for both. Any advice? Thanks

Neither bike is a new rider bike. As for power, i believe the Daytona beats the GSXR in almost every category. I voted GSXR though because i think its a better looking bike and with them both being very quick and almost the same in a lot of categorys style becomes a decison maker.

I'd vote for neither, because I see this as another, "I want a really fast cool looking bike for my first one. Despite having read all the nonsense about not starting on one of these bikes."
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

To be fair, Dill posted a couple of weeks ago that he already has a bike.
I have a 1982 Yamaha 400 Special. Just something to learn on throughout the summer. I would like to buy a sport bike next year, but I’m having trouble deciding what bike would be good for me.

oh, and to answer the question in your subject line, you need only one cylindar because a one thumper can get you around just as well as the 6cylindars on a honda rune. So the question should be, question about final bike choice, or something to that extent.
