I have a wide foot so I'm generally limited on sizes and styles. I currently have 4 pairs that ride in, all are over the ankle in height and heavy leather. One pair of Tony Lama's are 18" in height and pretty dressie. The buckero style heel makes serious riding difficult. My jeans will fit in the tops easily. My favorite is a pair of Double H 12" lace ups. They are the packer style with a standard 1" heel. I got a pair of Honda black 10" boots for Xmas. They have the velcro over closure on the side zippers with a padded shim protection. They are really stiff & hard to walkin. Riding is great in them. My oldest is a std trucker boot. Black 12" slipon with a low heel and cat's paw sole. What I wear depends on what I'm doing. I will not wear flip flops or tennis shoes ever! Lately I've seen some hot shoes wearing tall combat / motorcross style boots. They came all most to the knees. Reminds me of the Full Bore boots I used to motocross in myself.......now where are they? I bet they're in the basement! Have to go look.

Ah yes, I remember the Full Bore boots to. Some good memory recalls here tonight. I don't know if any one can relate to memories like this but here goes. The best years of my life were when I just moved up from trail rideing and enduro rideing to motocross. It was the summer of 7th grade. Just a kid, being dropped off at the track with just my bike, a 5 gallon can of mix, a plug and a wrench and a master link. I used to spend all day there, no worries, nothing to think about. We had a blast all day, rain or shine. WOW, I wish I new then that those were the best days of my life. Gees, no bills, no school for 10 weeks and only a paper route to buy plugs, gas and mixing oil. I still get to the track a few times every summer on an old RM125 I have in the garage, it's not like my Kawi KX-250 that I used to have but it works. I have not thought about those days in years. Those are great memories. Any one else have memories growing up spending there summers at the track or just dirt rideing? I bet lots of you. Now I'm 47, tons of bills, crap paying job, my dog (my best friend) is sick and not long to be with me, these things to are part of life but it sucks. Now I hope to get my ZX-6R in two months to make some more good memories. Keep The Faith Brothers...

My favorite is also a Double-H boot, side zip, looks like a Florsheim from the 1960's. It has no armor, but it fits perfect on the pegs/controls and is nice to walk in too. I'm a little guy but foot size 11EE.

Also really like a Joe Rocket (velocity?), short boot, better protection and ventilated.

Have a cheapo Chinese boot (fieldsheer) with full armor too, but it's too hot for all but the coldest weather.

If im just commuting to work I wear my steel toed work boots.

If im just out riding for the hell of it I have my set up grand prix boots. My wife thinks they look silly but they are so comfortable to ride in. Im wanting a pair of Sidi Canyon boots but they are out of my price range at the moment.

I ended up getting a pair of Sears Die Hard lace up boots . They are extremely comfortable and as on all of my lace ups I wrap the laces around the top of the boot and tie the ends in a square knot . No problem .
Btw , I also tried my Doc Martens and they were just fine as a MC Boot .

I got a pair of HD boots for my birthday. They fit better than anything else I tried and they zip up the side. At first I wasnt crazy about the flames on them, but I realized that 1) the flames MATCH my bike and 2) the flames CHANGE COLOR when they get hot (when yout feet warm up) hahaha I only realized #2 around midsummer.. my feet are always cold
moral of the story: look for boots that protect your ankle and foot and change color

I used to wear a pair of big clunky biker boots, the stereotypical kind, which I liked but was wearing the soles off. I take them off at work and wear some Duck shoes (leather with the rubber coating over the toe and about halfway up the side/back. Forgot to change one day and wore them on the bike. Loved them.

So I bought a pair of Columbia Sports over ankle boots for about $60. They are very warm, which is good for the winter riding - though I guess I'll be in the market for something else soon
