Exhaust Back Pressure

#1 Unread post by Florida_Rider »

I got a hold of this 4 stroke 50cc bike which I'm tinkering around with. I want to put a muffler under the seat just for kicks, but then I'm thinking what you guys are....why? So then im like, can I just take the muffler off all together? aside from being illegal, which i couldnt care less, whould I get any more power? Does a 1 cylinder 4 stroke need any back pressure?
Thanks!

You would likely notice a loss of power in the usable RPM range. Without proper back pressure, your engine's torque will suffer.
