carb balancing

#1 Unread post by were trees »

on carb balancing
the tubes you had a picture of in the carb balancing topic
i have a 75 honda cb and it has the 5mm holes on the intakes
does any one have a suggestion on how to get the tubes adapted to my holes.they have little adapters that motion pro makes but is there a ghetto version. any good ideas?

if you have the patience to do it you can get some 5mm bolts and cut the heads off them and drill a hole in them --put a nut with a small o ring behind it then screw them in and tighten the nut up to make a seal.dont tighten nut up so tight that it splits o ring.

Is your problem you can't get the tubes over an existing nipple since it's too big, or do you have a 5mm threaded hole you need to get something in to?

If it's the former, try heating the tubing in hot water, then pushing it down over the sharp end of a pencil. It'll stretch and hopefully not break, letting you put it over the big nipple.

If it's the latter, 9000white's instructions sound like an inexpensive way to take care of it.
