skip the fairing and just get the bars.

there is another guy on this forum who built a cafe bike out of his CB450 and spent suprisingly little money.

You can build a very nice cafe bike for 2k, as far as customs go they are on the cheap side to build

I got my clubmans for $29 from Mike's XS. http://www.mikesxs.com/mikesxs-chassis. ... ory_id=1.4 They aren't super low, but look good and are very comfortable.

You can get lower ones elsewhere, like Old Bike Barn, http://www.oldbikebarn.com/motorcycle_p ... =Universal but they are a bit uncomfortable and can hurt your wrists on long rides.

All I've done to my bike is change bars, mirrors, exhaust, and painted my spare body work. I plan to make a new seat and fender this spring for more of a cafe look.
