You know sev, some people might find that offensive. Well except for those oretentious adHd kids.
Two different but similar problems.

ADD is attention deficiet disorder in which sufferers have trouble focusing on things. This typically goes relatively unnoticed because the sufferers don't really do anything that draws attention to themselves (acting out etc.) and as such are relatively untreated. Though the uneducated tend to see them as being mentally slower, this is not true. Rather they just approach the world in a different way. They lack the ability to filter out distractions, so they experience EVERYTHING around them ALL AT ONCE.

ADHD is attention deficiet hyperactivity disorder, people who suffer from this show all of the above symptoms, but are more obvious about it. More likely to act out and as such are easier to recognize, and are more likely to be treated.

Yay for 3 years of psych courses.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

There is a difference between ADD and ADHD.

I have ADD, I have always had problems filtering out distractions but I have never been hyperactive.

Riding has been great for me, its one of the few times that I can just totally clear my mind and be relaxed.

Best way to describe ADD to someone who does not have it is imagine about a dozen different thoughts running through your mind all at the same time, all the time, and the only way you can clear this is to do something that requires %100 of your attention (like riding).

Technically this was a product review - which is where I moved it first, but then realized it turned into either a total talk, or soapbox thread.

Total talk it is!

And by the way, we only moderate the board to try to keep it neat and orderly for everyone - especially new users.

New Biker Forum - where this post originated, as did the original by VermilionX, were not new rider questions or of specific new rider discussion. I think that move and this one make sense. Sorry if you disagree. Take that up with Mike (totalmotorcycle) - he is the owner who asks us to keep after his board.

You should see my 45GSR, it's way cool to. It's big but hides nice once you are used to it and plenty of power. You know what they say, one shot one kill... So how do the gloves fit? Do they offer good wrist protection? You know more then likely that person has a thing against firearms any way. I bet not many other people have a thing against your post and took it for what it was. If someone is a regular here and wants to have some fun once in a wile there should be nothing wrong about it. This is not a war zone, it's not life or death here so stop puckering at both ends for heavens sake. Chill out. I bet lots of people do not care one way or another. Many people have a thing against guns. Do you think your gloves will be to hot for summer use? They still think guns kill people, in reality people kill people. You know if they took away all guns people will still kill with a baseball bat or a bic pen, are they going to take those away to?? "You know I usually go along with just about everything here" I never start any trouble and am not trying now but am sure people will be against me to, but that repromand showed signs of something else to. Since I'm for firearms I to am a bad person to many people. I think that moderator should put himself in check. Sorry moderator but that is my openion. It's obvious you are the one that feels subjected to seeing that post, you have no idea what the majority thinks. You are talking for your self. Since your real hidden feeling came out in that post I thought I would speek up to.

wtf?? did she say anything about guns being bad? its in the wrong area and this has happened before. No one is saying he cant post pictures and have fun. Just not in the fourm it started in, thats why it was moved, thats their job. Also, maybe its just me, but i wouldnt insult, (especially incorectly) someone who has the power to if they wanted mess with my posts. And im sorry if i subjected you to my opinion even though you chose to read this.

Did I say one thing in judgment regarding guns?! Did I? You better be careful spouting out to me in this manner. If you have a direct problem with my work as a moderator, feeling that I have been unjust to you or someone else, you're more than welcome to send me a PM - or better yet, go ahead and tattle to the owner of this board, "Totalmotorcycle". He assigned me as a moderator for a reason.

Why don't you reread my post. I was merely moving the thread to an appropriate forum. Many of Vermilion's posts have been moved - one was moved from the New Rider forum to the Racing Forum. Would that mean to you that the moderator had something against racing?! Geesh. I suggested that he start a blog to highlight his personal life - something many of us have done. For instance, if I want to glow on and on about a new tattoo I've acquired, I can do it in my blog.

We have a Soap Box forum for issues non-biking related that folks want to discuss, and we have the Blogs set up for folks to express their personal selves (additional webspace gifted to us by the owner of this site).

Again, if you have something to say, say it to me - don't try to hide it in a fake thread about gloves (a thread that still doesn't belong on this forum - again, should be in the Soap Box. But I'll leave it here so that people can see how poorly you've handled yourself). You must think I'm stupid as well as unjust.

I'm ADHD myself. It's been a fun ride. All ADD and ADHD kids that I know hear "the rhythm", if you know what I'm talking about, that's awesome. Seriously though, I've never been able to stay still my entire life. My 8th grade english teacher liked to tell me that Hitler rocked in his seats too. Nothing like positive reinforcement.

As to the Moderator bashing, is K9 a troll? I mean, yeah, what he does is not cool and you guys deserve major respect for what you do, but it seems like we're all over reacting with him. Then again after the warm spell we had, I'm fairly on edge too waiting to get back on the bikes

I've got ADHD as well, although it isn't nearly as apparent as it was when I was younger. Now if I'm bored and sitting still I've gotta find something for myself to do, something for my hands to play with. A stapler, a cell phone, whatever. If I'm actually being entertained though (as I am when riding) I'm just fine.
