Forgot my shield was up :-)

#1 Unread post by safety-boy »

This is my first accidentally beligerent biker story...

I have a habit, from my car driving days, of talking to other drivers (rather loudly). Typically commenting on their driving skill. This has carried a bit to my riding.

So, one day I am riding through a parking lot, in front of a store. Suddenly a cop car comes roaring up, and too cops run into the store. Customers are looking and talking. One guy takes a step into the crosswalk, then out, then in, turns, steps out... Geez!

So, I say rather loudly, "are you walking or dancing, sweetheart!" He immediately backs up, which is when I noticed my shield was up

That's funny. It's one of those things where you might normally want to say that out loud, but you'd hold yourself back. If you are in your car, you feel like you are only in your head, so no bother. You did what you meant to do, but normally you try to be more composed. It must have felt refreshing in a way.

I was awful tempted to use my inside voice today. 2 cages ahead of me was someone who was obviously drunk, they were driving slow and weaving all over. thankfully when we got to a T-intersection they turned the other way.

Their window was closed, but had it been open I would have been awful tempted to give them a "get off the road you "procreating" drunk" as I rode by

Seems the times...

Seems the time I want them to hear me is when they won't. Luckily, I am allergic to knuckles, so it doesn't bother me too much!
