Now here is what I call a serious cop bike.

CHP does had a racing team they use to promote things, so it could be.

The BMW police bike is the R1100RT or the R1150RT, depending on when it was bought.JWF505 wrote:camthepyro wrote:The cops where I live drive BMWs, I'm not sure what model.
all CHP and a few LAPD bikers have a BMW. My guess is a K something touring sorta bike based on the size of em and what they need to do.

Pennsylvania State Police pretty much stick to their Crown Vics and the like, not police bikes. Some of our Pittsburgh city police ride Harleys, and the University of Pittsburgh police department has a single BMW R1100RT police bike.Scoutmedic wrote:I searched and searched for a recent picture of the Pennsylvania State Police Motorcycle Unit. No luck. The only picture I could find was from 1998. All the information I could find said that they're riding Harley's. I know the CHP was using Moto Guzzi's for a time but, that was quite a while ago.

that CHP racer is cool. looks like custom leathers made to look like a CHP uniform, reproduce that in textile and they could have themselves a really nice MC uniform.
I have noticed that flip up helmets are slowly replacing the tradional half halmet for MC officers. I have seen one that had the speakers and mic for their radio hooked to a bluetooth wireless setup so there is no cord to snag and even had a little LED light that turned on when they flipped up the visor
