The sledgehammer is the biggest hammer you can use and it will pound the heck out of anything - but when you need to tap in some finishing nails it would not be very useful. And so it is with the Busa and the new 1400. They are not the best tool for every job. Now the BMW is probably much better once you throw some curves on that road.

... and if you don't have a family of 8, you don't need a suburban, if you don't have to haul stuff on a regular basis you don't need a truck, if you live in a city with mass transportation, you don't need a car or a bike, and so on and so on. I don't think most of us buy our bikes out of need, but because we want them. Our lives are full of things we don't really need, but what we want.camthepyro wrote:Eh, I think the 'busa is much more beautiful. Unless you're at the drag strip there's no reason for anything that big and powerful.
Most people that make comments like that have never enjoyed the thrill of riding one of the most amazing machines ever made by man.

Haha, I like the misquote, that's funny. Anyway, that is true, most people don't buy things like that out of need, but out of want, but I would never want a 'busa, because I'd never use half it's power, plus the insurance and gas has got to be outrageous.

not to be too much of a smart "O Ring", but what machines have been made by anything other than man?

Insert something clever and showing an understanding of motorcycle culture here

I thought the same thing about the power. It didn't take me two months and I had the needle pegged. Full coverage insurance is about $700.00 a year and fuel mileage ranges from about 38 if I'm riding hard, to 50 if I take it easy. It has a built in fuel mileage computer so I pretty sure that's an accurate figure. I will admit it's hard to take it easy, but with my average riding style I keep it around 40.camthepyro wrote:Haha, I like the misquote, that's funny. BMW seems to be really good at hitting the styling nail right on the head, I have yet to see an ugly looking bimmer
