Back in gear...

#1 Unread post by backrevin »

Hi:

I have entered back into the sport after a lapse of 25 years...it feels so good! I am a brit now living in CT and first rode at 17 in the UK..stayed alive long enough to 'graduate' to four wheels and now smart enough to go back to two but only with the benefit of the MSF course. (Made me realize that I was lucky to get a second chance at riding - how little I knew about riding the first time around).

Passed MSF in October 05, bought a new Moto Guzzi Nevada Classic 750 I.E. 11/4/05 but only after buying decent protective gear (I don't bounce on hard surfaces as well as a teenager, they don't bounce well either come to think about it). Have put 1,655 miles on the Guzzi since then, MG's descriptions of the bike is right on, this is a sweet bike to get back into riding, light, comfortable, easy to handle with enough punch to keep one happy (for now at least). Only niggle on the bike..it drops a little oil, I had forgotten that about Italian bikes..anyway I rediscovered what newspapers are for.

I have been a visitor to the forums here and elsewhere - to all the seasoned riders who post - thankyou, I have learned so much from your insights, links etc. To all the newbies & re-entries - listen to the voices of experience, try the advice that is offered - it works more often than not.

After riding through the winter to practise skills and having spent the cold nights researching motorcyling techniques, risk management and safety I decided to join up with the intent of trying to put a little back into the forums for others who are coming back or are new to the sport/hobby..so I will be back posting again in the next week or two.

Great to be back in the two wheel community.

John
