It doesn't what now?

#1 Unread post by Shiv »

So I was looking around for a bike. I checked Craigslist and came across a 2000 EX500. It's in my price range ($1700) but I check the description/pictures and I see this:
it doesn't drive straight
What? How does it not drive straight? What could be preventing this and is it easily fixable? Would you think a huge price drop would be warranted due to how much it might cost to fix the bike?

Anyways, link:

Have fun on the open /¦\

I don't know. I e-mailed him about it but I don't know how honest of an answer I'm going to get.

Could be as simple as cocked forks/bars or mis-aligned rear wheel(easy fix), or bent forks or frame(run away from the thing as fast as you can). Don't really sound like the guy will be able to tell what the problem is. I'd pass unless you can have it checked by a mechanic first.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

HM. Have a mechanic check it if you are interested.

If the Frame is bent RUN (As Buzz said) ... But to be honest with you,if the problem is only a simple misalignment, I wouldn't want the bike anyway, because the previous owner is probably an idiot who couldn't perform (or have done) simple maintenance. (To inlude oil changes, etc) Ask the guy if it's ever been in an accident.
