The Thread of All Threads

#1 Unread post by camthepyro »

Ok, so there seem to be a lot of more or less useless threads. Not that the information, opinions, or stories in them aren't interesting, it's just that a lot of the stuff is just a short statement, that doesn't need an entire topic to be stated.

That being said, this thread should be used for all such statements that aren't important enough to create a whole new topic.

So, in other words, just use this thread for random stuff.

So stating that "I bought a new bike" would be totally on topic for this thread??

BTW I am really excited about it as everyone could imagine.

So, first post. I finally fixed my Nightawk, got the right carb fixed so both cylinders are working fine. So after like 20 hours of working on it I finally figured out the problem. After completely cleaning both carbs, etc. I finally realized the problem was that the idiot who owned the bike before me I guess dissasembled the float bowl, and when he put it back together he put the float on upside down, so the pin was always pushed closed. So I simply flipped it over and put it back together, and magically it worked. So like 20 hours of work, just to find an obvious problem and fix it in 15 minutes.

I like birds
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

It would like really suck to hit a bird.

A bird fart wouldn't be too bad though.

My bro-in-law hit a bird on his GSX-R 600 while doing about 125mph. It tore right through his windscreen!

A while back I ran into a picture of a great horned owl.... imbedded in some poor Hayabusa's fairing. It punched in on the left hand side right next to the windshield, all you could see is a giant hole and two little birdie feet plus a lot of blood and feathers. Hole was about 12 inches in diameter.

Yikes, I don't want to think about how fast he was going when he hit that... OR how scary that must have been.
