ideal weight

http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm

im 5'9" 123lbs right now. i used to be 130lbs last year. i've lost weight since since i started riding.

medically, im not severely underweight. but the general concensus is i should be around 140lbs.

i actually wanna be 140lbs but im having a hard time gaining weight. i don't even play basketball anymore but i would like to do it again when i gain weight so that i won't be fat.

Is everyone or most everyone in your family thin? If so, you are probably genetically predisposed to be also. I wish there was a way for me to give you about 20 pounds extra I've been carrying around for years........

yeah kinda, my dad has a big gut, but he drinks beer. i saw a pic of him when he was young and he was slim.

my mom is also slim as well as my sis. my brother is not slim but he's not fat either.

so yeah, i guess it's in our genes.

anyway... maybe i'll try some protein products after i research it.

Here's helpful hint or two to help you gain weight--a sweet tooth is a good thing to have, also.

Pastry--all kinds
Ice Cream--not the wimpy fat-free or reduced fat, either
Candy--the gooeyer the better
Burgers & fries, supersized
Seconds and thirds at all meals

On the other hand, your heart may turn to stone on this diet, so enjoy being thin..... :)

I'm 21 lbs over my medically recommended weight.

But everyone says I'm skinny...

I'm apparently 23 pounds under my suggested weight...

Yah that is my diet for the most part. Currently, on my desk, is sitting a chick fil-a wrapper (fried chicken sandwich) with fries, two bags of skittles (empty), two granola bar wrappers, a box that used to have a pizza in it, and a pastry wrapper as well as 6 Coke cans.

All of which was consumed in a 18ish hour period. Which reminds me that I need to clean my desk off.
Have fun on the open /¦\

If I believed that an internet calculator could tell how much I'm supposed to weigh based on my height, gender, and age then I'm about 5 lbs underweight for my height...
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I'm 5'10 and 130. Have been since I was 14. They trued bulking me up when I played football, ate more bananas, protein supplement, meat, eggs, bread, 'skeddy, sugar and anything else that didn't run away fast enough in 6 months to feed 2 whole teams of players. Worked out like a madman the whole time. Never gained an ounce. Spent the next 6 months eating exactly the same and sitting on the couch. Never gained an ounce.

I gave up worrying about it. I eat when I'm hungry. I eat alot for a 200LBer, nevermind a buck thirty of mouth and attitude. I do a very physical job and get plenty of exercise off the job too. I'm way stronger than I should be for a skinny dude. Just my metabolism. I don't sweat it no more.

You taking alot of heat from people about your weight? I used too.

I took alot of heat from the 'normal' and outright porky guys I work with, but it don't bother me no more. For some reason, it is perfectly acceptable for someone to harass and tease a thin person for being thin, but not to even dare to say anything to an overweight person about their extra poundage. It used to bother me alot to be the butt of every fatasses jokes, but after out-working, out-lifting and out-eating them all, I got over it. They still haven't, but now they know that pushing me too far is hazardous to thier health, so they watch themselves now.

I am going to have to break-in a whole new group of such folks next month with my new job....

Take their jabs and insults for awhile. Then wait until they are struggling to lift a 200+ LB cylinder head, push them aside, grab that lump of iron and lift it on to the block gently. Then look 'em straight in the eye, don't look happy, and say, "I'm the skinniest little F*ck that will ever kick your azz. Don't forget it." And walk away. They will back off.

Being skinny is no handicap if your strong enough. It's a great advantage for riding, too.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:
