Several weeks ago I asked for some opinions regarding Avon's new Venom touring tires and based upon a couple of recommendations from this forum (thanks guys) I bought a set. I own a 2000 Royal Star Venture and replaced a set of Dunlop Elite II's. These new Avons are spectacular! My bike handles like an entirely different motorcycle. The tires honestly make my 900 pound monster feel half as heavy. Cornering is absolutely neutral even when I lean far enough to scrape the floor boards. Avon claimes that their new Venoms are also extremely quiet. My Dunlps howled when I turned (the howling got worse as they aged) but the Venoms are nearly silent and remain so even when banking steeply. I highly recommend these tires and I will buy them again when it's time for new tires. They are available in bias or radial construction and they are made for a wide variety of touring bikes and cruisers.
