New Exhaust Question

  • Quote

#1 Post by SHO » Wed Apr 19, 2006 1:10 am

Hi All,

I have a Suzuki M50 and I am thinking about changing the exhaust on it. I am interested in a deep low rumble as apposed to a loud, raspy one. I am kinda fixated on the Roadhouse Classic 2 into 1 exhaust because I heard/read that that they are not "loud" yet have a very low/deep rumble loud enough to be heard. Also, they have a good record for power increase. I like the looks of it as well. Does anybody have any opninons on this brand? Any other brands you may recommend for my taste?

I've also been searching all over for Motorcycle exhaust audio clips but nothing has turned up. Any info on both would be great. Thanks!

I had the Roadhouse 2-1 system on my '99 Drifter 1500 and was very happy with it. You're right, it's not too loud and it gives a nice, low rumble that doesn't p*ss off your neighbours at 6am. I wish they made a similar system for my Dyna Superglide, because the SE mufflers I have on it just don't sound as good as that Drifter did. Just one small warning if you do order a Roadhouse - the end cap does NOT come with the system, you have to order it separately.

Gummiente,

Thanks for the info. Are they loud enough to be heard or are they on the too mellow side? I would like them to be a little louder than my stock ones.

Also, what would be the benefit of complete replacement vs. slip-ons? Complete for WOT crusing and slip-ons for city?

Thanks.

You are damn lucky, I have just about what you are looking for. Remember this is on my V-Star 650 so the sound might be a little bit different since your engine is 800cc.

First of, the picture of RH 2 into 1 on my bike

Here sound clip of RH 2 into 1 with baffler on

And here also but without baffler

Oh I forgot to give you some comments

First of all, this is a full system exhaust, so you might need a re-jet but you have fuel injection system so I'm not really sure about that. RH look is about love it or hate it. I get mix comments on both side.

The original sound is pretty deep, rumble deep and not too loud (louder than stock and also can trick off some of car's alarm). I don't like the sound when accelerate.

I took of the baffler a couple months ago just to try it. The sound become a lot louder with still a deep sound from huge cannister. All my friends noticed the sound increase from my exhaust. The bad thing I have to push the bike out of my house pretty far away when I leave and cruise down with engine shut off when I return. I like it better, tho since I got a lot more notice from cager when lane spliting.

My second choice would be HK (Hard Krome) 2.75". I like the look (classic Look), the sound (as loud as RH without baffler). It gurantee no blue or gold (discoloring) on HK. I myself will install HK later on when I have enough money just for a change.
