Sew on reflective material

#1 Post by taylorkh » Fri Apr 21, 2006 6:36 am

Can anyone tell me where to purchase some reflective tape which I can sew onto my mesh jacket (First Gear)? It has a little reflective piping but more is better. I have the stick on type. Good for helmets. I am looking for something with a cloth backing.

Thanks,

Ken

Not a bad idea. I'd like to know too (I have the same jacket, the tiny reflectors dont do much).

Well, I guess I have to answer my own question... Here are some results of my searching so far:

http://stores.ebay.com/reflective-tape - looks like a possible, appears to be bare tape, low cost

http://www.reflectivelyyours.com/homepage.html - a lot of prepackaged items, perhaps a horse decal on the back of my jacket? No. Good shot of a Beemer with reflective tape COVERING the back of the saddle bags. Would not want to get too close behind him at night (without sunglasses).

http://www.identi-tape.com/index.html - more industrial oriented I think - I like that as I prefer to roll my own - I am considering the sew on vinyl or the SOLAS marine tape. 10 feet would let me do the jacket and have a lot left over.

Regards,

Ken

p.s. Here are some reflective gloves. http://www.abcsafetymart.com/workgloves ... loves.html Can't seem to find one with the correct finger covered though
