Since Verm has such a hard on for red/black:

I'm not going to try to convince you to get something mild to start off with again, but make your pick wisely and don't rush into it. Buying the liter bike again, just because you can't get ahold of the 600 RIGHT NOW, is a bad reason.

I like the Suz 650S...nice bike, I think V wants more plastic though.

Kaw Z750S is on my list as soon as I can convince the wife.

I have got to have the shortest legs for a person that's 5'9". I couldn't flatfoot a CBR. Granted a smaller seat might help. How much smaller, or lower, is the Daytona? If at all.

An SV650S with lower fairings looks absolutely delicious. Just sayin'.

Hey V, I would definetly get the GSXR-600. The 600's are the only way to go in my book. To tell you the truth if I were getting a new bike I would get the 06' GSXR-600 too, but I would get the blue one :D

nah, i'll stick to gixxers. be it 600 or 1000. :D
Verm- you owe it to yourself to at least go to a Triumph dealership and check one of these out. I saw one in person for the first time last night. It's quite small and slim, and lightweight. For a smaller person (not me, I'm 6'1" 240lbs), it would be a canyon-carving rocketship!

The triple engine is also going to give you a broader power band, make the bike easier to manage in around-town riding. You should at least check it out, IMO.
Just thought i would share while were on the subject of triumph.

HANDS OFF IT'S MINE!
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
