What American accent?
I suppose I should ignore it, but I always stumble over the idea that there is a single American accent. American pronunciations for "water" include "wooder", "wuhter", "wooter", "wuder", "wadder", "wotter", "wodder", and "water" (I'm too lazy for diacriticals). The first time I heard someone from New Jersey ask for a glass of wuder (I was eight) I had no idea what they were talking about.
I suppose there is some group which pronounces moron ("more on") as mohran or moran, probably northeasterners or something.
A better explanation is that the guy in the picture was a moron.
