New Pope. Old School: (yawn) or worse....
Part of me sees the goals of organized religion as having a lot of control issues at the core... inflexible, right wing, fearmongering, repressive... the blind preaching the blind... Gandhi wouldve been a better Pope than most of the people kicking around the Catholic church
I try to remember one core thing, and even quantum physics is on my side with this: we are all of one (everyone and everything) ==> Unity.
Take the true heart of that one thought into your everyday life and see how it can change EVERYTHING you do. You'll fail at it about 100 times a day, (or more depending upon your awareness of your actions and words)... but each time you can learn to bring that 100 down to maybe 99 or 98... maybe on a good day 75 failures to see/believe in unity... but after you see the successes of the 10 or 20 things you did well, like putting away your ego, you may find the desire to work on those 75 flaws. They may never really go away fast... they take LOTS of time and patience to work out... some take years to overcome... a little at a time... lots of work, lots of rewards. Makes your world (the world) a different place.

I thought your supposed to worship God? the Pope seems to be put on a very high pedastal. He is only human. And why dont they put a Black Pope in and someone younger. That would send out a big message that God loves everyone no matter what creed or colour you are.

I wonder about that too--why do Catholics place the pope on such a pedestal? They seem to make him [pope] the ultimate entity with God merely in attendance.
My daughter married into a Catholic family, but none of them seems to be able to explain it, either.

Exactly..... and Catholisism (and all other major religions) have always been about power and money. They use the fears of the population about the Great Unknown to get them both.9000white wrote:people have got to see a human get the money.
Religion has taken the one pure thing in the world... God... and turned him into the first, biggest and most corrupt mass marketing scam in history, and done it in many flavors (demoninations, sects, ect.) to gain as much power as possible. And they did it thousands of years ago, and still going strong....... Bill Gates must be green with envy.
No Witnesses....
