I've got a really thick leather jacket. I keep my visor open a crack at least to stop misting and use a snood for my neck. But my No.1 favourite purchase for this year is def. my Gerbing heated gloves. Comfy, usable and toasty-warm. I really don't know how I managed without them.

In Africa at night it can get really cold (no kidding). Liners in the gloves work really well and fleecy socks. Also if you put waterproofs on over your jacket and trousers it keeps in your body heat and keeps you warm.

Heated grips rule.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

You wanna stay warm? Electricity is your friend. try a heated vest or jacket liner.
I would be the old, slow guy. Just let me know where you are going and I'll try to get there before you leave.

Better gloves than those lame-"O Ring" lined pouches that attach to the bars. I'm studying in London and everyone uses those damn things and theyre ugly as hell. And usually worn by people that drive mopeds. Why the hell would you get a moped? I see like businessmen riding mopeds and I'm like "Don't you have any self respect?"

But I digress. Rant over.

Couple of suggestions.....move to the center of your continent...I believe it is warmer there..

...stop breathing when riding..but this is only good for short trips...

and frankly the only worthwhile suggestion I have is a product called Zooke, I found that works really well in the cold of the Connecticut winter even with sub-zero temperatures; doubt you see those temps in Aus.

BTW it is also excellent at cleaning the exterior of the visor especially for removing bugs when things warm up. It is expensive, US$6.00 for a v.small jar but it lasts.
If you're going through hell, keep going.
