I think you should sell everything you have, including where you live, and get a bigger vehicle that only gets 5mpg ... and commute in that.

Upside is, your new vehcle will be so big, you could just live in that...

Dont sell the bike...gas prices high? Please...just cut something else that eats your monthly expenses until the prices go back down (and they will). Selling your bike will just put you at a financial loss, unless you can sell it for more than you bought it for, and buy a similar bike later for less or equal price. Which is unlikely.

Yes, commute on the bike. Take the truck when it rains, if you dont like getting wet or dont have raingear.

Dont ya know? If you have at least one child you need a 7 seater SUV as a commuter vehicle.

I parked my truck the day I bought my bike. I only drive it when the weather sucks, have to haul the kids somewhere, or to tow my bass boat. Other than that, I'm on the C-50.

How do you like the C50? I'm looking at buying a new bike and the 2 leading candidates are the C50T and the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT.

I like those cause they have the saddlebags, windshield, and sissy bar all included for about $1200 more than the cost of the regular c50 or Vulcan Classic. Which is less to add those items to them.

Boy, is this a blatant thread hijack or what

I LOVE the C-50. It's bulletproof!!! All you have to do is worry about riding and not the ride! Get one!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

dude, you drive a newish F150 and you only get 13mpg?! do you ever get the accelerator off the floor? i have dodge dakota with a 5.9L and i get fuel economy about like with a performance-oreanted (read: eats gas like a fat man at a buffet) motor. what does that truck have? a 4.7? unless you are- towing something, driving over 100mph everywhere you go, or your truck is broke, you should be getting like 17mpg at least on avg. better than that if its 60 highway miles round trip.

just my $.02

Throw on oversized tires on any truck/SUV and that mpg drops pretty darn quick.

Get an Aprilia Ditech SR-50, bore it out to 70cc.

You'll get 90+ MPG, and it tops out at over 60 so you can cruise on the urban highways, not to mention SR-50s look cooler than any other scooter.
