Wait, are you serious, or is that a joke? Why do you need to "take off like a bullet"?

You can already beat all the cars.

But anyways, buy a little desk fan and hook it onto the back of your motorcycle.

The propulsion generated by the turbine should give you at LEAST 20 more HP.

30 if you tweak the fan a bit. Buying new blades for it (to get maximum thrust), speeding up the motor, angling the base a bit (to get maximum lift), and using a larger battery (more power = more speed!) are just a few of the easy adjustments you can make.

You may wanna talk to your mechanic about over clocking the fan. A lot of people have voided their warranties by doing it themselves. But get a mechanic to do it and it's like a $9.99 turbo.
Have fun on the open /¦\

Maybe he just wants more low end torque because he wants better acceleration for particular use on city streets for whatever reason, be it racing even. Whether its right or wrong is another topic entirely, but he's asking for help not an oncoming lecture or forum flame.

So many of you all are quick to find fault in a persons choice to ride however they want. Its like a broken record around this place. I think many people are aware of the risks they take, and each of us finds a certain level of risk that we feel is acceptable and adjust our behaviors to fit that level. What a lot of you do on here is basically like going up to a smoker and saying "Hey, you know those cigarettes will kill you?"...Yeah, no-"poo poo" sherlock, freedom of choice.

Ummm... calm down, I wasn't lecturing anyone. I just wasn't sure if that was a joke or not. My point is, if he has a GS500, he's not going to take off like a bulltet, if that's what he wants, he should go buy a full-fledged sport bike. I could care less if he wants to go fast, I'm just curious why he wants to do it with a GS500.

Bullcrap. You knew exactly what you implied as did I. And I don't need to calm down, I'm not losing my temper over the likes of you.

It ain't rocket science, but it's a little more complicated than slapping on a pipe and some pods.
Exactly. Once you change one thing you need to change the rest. More fuel, more air and a free flowing exhaust should be done together.

deathlucky, is your nickname in real life "sparky?". anyways, there is no more power in higher octane fules, they just combust better and dont knock. sure you could add a turbo but considering its all kinds of custom and the cost for a turbo and all the parts is gonna be what you paid for the bike, and you could get something much faster with the brakes and suspension to DEAL with that speed for the same price... bad idea
if you are not concerned with top end speed and feel that you wouldnt mind dropping your gas milage a bit, go with a larger rear sproket or smaller front, the gear ratio will change the way your power is delivered and get you into your bikes power much quicker. Plus, whether or not you claim to or actually do them, you will wheely easier, just remember to claim you dont do them :devil2: sproket should be an easy way to access the current power easier, though it WONT give more power.

there may be a reason they restrict it to smaller bikes? because [most] younger people do it for image and want to be like the guys on "Torque" or The fast and the furious.

and i am lecturing because when he "takes off like a bullet" and wrecks my insurance rates just went up. :frusty:

dont get me wrong, i love a little speed (ok, ok, a lot of speed) but there is a time and a place for it and sometimes young people are not the best judges of that (yea, i used to drive around neighborhoods with the subwoofers blairing, and now i wanna throw rocks at those kids cars)
